My mom interrupts me,
She doesn’t love me anymore.
Her voice talks over
And mine drowns in her warp.
I try to honor her
And she laughs in my face.
She makes it clear
I was never the superior race.
I want to be loved by her,
Unconditionally.
She’d trade me in for
A brand-new Christmas tree.
She doesn’t like,
The woman I’m becoming
But I hope that one day
She’ll love me back
The least she could do is
give me that.
