Things got a little out of hand and now there’s red between us,
We both looked into the closet with secrets smothered in blood.
The ocean inside me evaporated; I’m looking out from within,
It’s hard to love me when all I shed is venomous skin.
You’ll never comprehend, when was the last time you stopped to think?
I’m surfing through waves while tied to my emotions, you gossip by kitchen sinks.
Hold my heart by a thread and time trims it thinner,
my mind inches towards death like a gun, and you pull my triggers.
Thank the sun today, tomorrow we might not be able to clean the mess we have,
My past reminds me I lead with my heart, and I’m now only compromising half.
My tides rise and fall, roses grow tall with all of spring’s rain to drink,
Bandaids from thorns but the storm won’t leave, you gossip by kitchen sinks.
